Chapter 23 Summary

Nick and Smoke were in Nick's bedroom,talking about the dog and arson story,until Nick's mom opened the front door of the house and called Nick.Smoke told Nick not talk about him when Nick comes downstairs to talk to his mom.When came down his mom told him about his babysitter that takes care of him when he is elementary school,Peyton (the name of Nick's elementary babysitter) was staying here for a few days while she went to be with Nick's father.Drake McBride was annoyed because the handler wants his money that owes him two thousand dollars (2000$) but he did not want to pay because he thinks that the handler's dog is lost his sent.Soon after that conversation it ended out peacefully,then Drake McBride wrote on a check and give it to the handler and told him to buy another mutt.
